Cheryl Cole-Derek Hough on ‘Dancing with the Stars’?

Fresh from a season that saw tabloid darling and Jon and Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin slug it out on the dance floor (to awesome ratings), ABC bigwigs have “informally approached” British sweetheart and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole to appear on the show alongside rumored beau Derek Hough, according to published reports.

Her camp is reportedly very receptive to the idea. “Her US team think it will be a great move for her and increase her profile Stateside. Partnering her with Derek too would be a masterstroke and they want her to give it serious thought,” a source tells the Daily Mail.
Cole, who made headlines earlier this year when news broke that her footballer-hubby Ashley Cole cheated on her Tiger Woods-style, is currently filming the audition phase of UK’s X Factor. According to rumors, she and the Dancing with the Stars pro are, well, very close.
She and Hough, who won last season of Dancing with the Stars with Nicole Scherzinger, danced on her recent tour, as well as on the music video for her song Parachute, which makes them way ahead of the competition. Hough choreographed the music video.
Team Hough-Scherzinger of course was no stranger to similar observations. The Pussycat Dolls frontwoman was then criticized for being overqualified to be on the show. As for Cole, she is reportedly very determined and have been trying to break into the US market.
