MaxiVista turns your iPad Into a Second Monitor in Windows
July 19, 2010 by ipad news · Leave a Comment
When AirDisplay came out a few months ago, Mac users discovered that they were suddenly able to use their iPad as an external display as long as their iPad and their computer were both on the same network. Now Windows users can get the same benefit with MaxiVista , an app that allows you to wirelessly display an extended desktop on your iPad’s display. MaxiVista supports Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. While it doesn’t make your iPad touch-capable, as in, you can’t manipulate items on your computer using your iPad , it does allow you to keep an eye on your e-mail in a smaller window while you work on your primary display or watch your Twitter or Facebook stream go by while you keep full-screen video open on your main monitor
Author Ryu Murakami releasing new book solely for iPad

Like me, maybe you’re not big into Japanese literature other than some graphic novels. When I read this story, I had no idea who Ryu Murakami was until I read that his list of works includes Audition . Audition , in case you don’t know, was adapted to film by Takashi Miike ; it’s one of the most uncomfortable and graphic horror movies that I’ve ever seen, … but I digress
Todo for iPad
July 19, 2010 by ipad news · Leave a Comment
Todo for iPad , a $5 productivity app from Appigo , oozes with awesomeness. Much like its iPhone counterpart , Todo looks slick, it functions intuitively, and is packed with features that you don’t need to mess with if you’re not interested, but can easily avail yourself of if you’re a true power user. The first thing you’ll notice when you launch Todo for iPad —really, you won’t be able to miss it—is that the app simply looks great. There are times when it doesn’t make sense for an app to emulate its real-world counterpart, but Todo’s recreation of a spiral-bound notebook works beautifully. The default theme is a blue faux-leather notebook, but you can choose from a variety of other themes or even purchase an in-app upgrade for an even fancier look

HelvetiNote for iPad long on looks, functionality
July 12, 2010 by ipad news · Leave a Comment
An app with a domain like DeathtoMarkerFelt.com has a clear objective. The app itself, HelvetiNote (US$2.99) is a note-taking application for the iPad meant for folks who dislike the aesthetics of Apple’s own offering. Minimalist, attractive and useful, it’s earned a spot on my iPad . Here’s what I like (and don’t) about the Notes alternative. I appreciate good design, but admit that I don’t share the vehement opposition to Marker Felt that burns in the bellies of so many.
