Modern Conflict HD iPad Review

Modern Conflict HD iPad Review

Pros : Same game as the pulled app Judgment Day War; includes bonus missions; great strategic depth Cons : Generic storyline; precise taps required when selecting bases; still fairly short Bottom Line : We enjoyed this game back when it was called Judgment Day War, and now it’s a bit more bland but a better bargain. Not too long after it launched, one of our favorite casual strategy games, a Galcon -inspired tank and helicopter game called Judgment Day War , disappeared from the App Store. The setting, based on the historical Six-Day War between Israel and its neighbors, was apparently too controversial for Apple.

Apple to charge upgrade fee for iPads moving to iOS 4?

As if waiting around until fall to get iOS 4 weren’t enough of a downer for iPad owners, the latest rumor we’re hearing is that they’ll have to pay a fee in order to do so. That’s right, for the privilege of waiting patiently to get some semblance of multitasking on your slate device, you’ll have to pony up the cash — or so the story goes. Stuff have it on strong authority from app developers in the know that Apple will be asking for a (relatively small) tithe from those wishing to update their iPads when the leaves start turning amber. We’d advise keeping the pitchforks stowed for now — at least until there’s some solid corroboration for this — but then it’s not like Apple hasn’t done this before

Like me, maybe you’re not big into Japanese literature other than some graphic novels. When I read this story, I had no idea who Ryu Murakami was until I read that his list of works includes Audition . Audition , in case you don’t know, was adapted to film by Takashi Miike ; it’s one of the most uncomfortable and graphic horror movies that I’ve ever seen, … but I digress

Three months after its debut, the iPad continues to sell extremely well, according to a study performed by America’s Research Group (ARC). They surveyed 1,000 people and found that 8.4 percent said they already bought an iPad . Plus, another 6.1 percent said they intend to purchase one. The good news for Apple is this: according to these numbers, the number of people who intend to buy is above 70 percent of the number that have already bought. In fact, ARC founder Britt Beemer called it “incredible demand.” More iPad news on the enterprise front: In a separate survey noted today by Apple 2.0/Fortune , ITIC and Sunbelt Software found that 23% of the 600 IT managers they contacted have iPads in hand or on order.

In a balky economy with limited opportunities for people to spend discretionary income on electronics, it’s not surprising that a purchase of one device — an iPad , for example — might keep a person from purchasing an e-reader device like an Amazon Kindle or a portable game console. A report recently published by Resolve Market Research and shared by Mashable is showing that the market is responding in exactly that manner. A full 49% of survey respondents answered that they would not by an e-reader after purchasing an iPad , followed closely by 38% saying that they would forgo the purchase of a portable game console if they bought an iPad . The iPhone has already had an impact on sales of gaming consoles, and the upcoming deployment of iOS4 on iPad as well as the advent of Apple’s Game Center may prove to The Resolve study also shows that for 37% of respondents, the iPad would be their first Apple product
