Samsung isn’t the only company announcing Android tablets today. Toshiba just dropped the Android 2.2-powered Folio 100 on the world. The specs read like a strong device, with its 1024 x 600 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, Tegra 2 processor, and 16GB of built-in memory. Other features, like the HDMI output, SD card slot, WiFi support, and 1.3 megapixel webcam would have you thinking this will be a force to be reckoned with. Sadly, that’s not the vibe we’re getting out of the early reports.We’re gathering more of a mixed vibe with a lean towards the positive.

With the launch of the Droid 2 just a few weeks in the past, Motorola is stepping up it’s Android game for overseas customers and launching the Motorola Milestone 2. Very similar to the Droid 2, it’s running a 1GHz processor (siginficantly improved over the Milestone’s 550MHz CPU) and has 8GB of internal storage, both considerable boosts compared the the Milestone(1). The physical design is also a also improved just as the Droid 2 with the enhanced slide out qwerty keyboard. Longer battery life, Android 2.2, a 5.0 MegaPixel camera and Flash support round out the top features of the phone.

Motorola Announces "Defy" for European Market

Motorola has added to their Android portfolio today as they unveiled their new, ruggedized Defy handset for European carriers. While it may look like an average touch-only phone, it has what it takes where it counts. Taking its queue from the i1 released earlier this year, the Defy is considered a rugged handset. Essentially, this means the phone can withstand all types of abuse, including water, drops, dust, and scratches.

Remember that new version of the Google Voice app we told you about last week, the one that’s part of the leaked G2 ROM and includes a revamped widget? Well, you don’t have to wait for the G2 to get it. The guys over at XDA-Developers have pulled it the leaked ROM so you can install it like any other app. As some of you may remember, when the latest Google Voice update came out it improved the speed of placing calls, but in the process eliminated the possibility of taking advantage of unlimited calling via MyFaves or a Friends and Family feature. This new app also has that “fix,” so if you’re still running an older version of Google Voice, you may not want to upgrade
