Barney's Version Trailer

If you’re attending the Toronto Film Festival next month, you’ll be able to check out this flick. Barney’s Version stars the always entertaining Paul Giamatti in an indie dramedy about the life of a polygamous man. It has a fantastic cast including Dustin Hoffman, Bruce Greenwood, Rosamund Pike, Minnie Driver, Rachelle Lefevre, Scott Speedman and Saul Rubinek, to just name a few. I stumbled across this trailer last night and thought it’d be a good idea to share it with you guys because it actually looks quite good, mostly because it’s always awesome to see Paul Giamatti playing a wacky character like this. Check it out below.

Watch the teaser trailer for Richard J. Lewis’ Barney’s Version:

The picaresque and touching story of Barney Panofsky (Paul Giamatti), a hard-drinking, cigar-smoking, foulmouthed 65-year-old hockey fanatic and TV producer, reflecting on his life’s successes and failures.

Barney’s Version is directed by Toronto-born filmmaker Richard J. Lewis, mostly of various TV shows like “Due South” and “CSI” as well as a 1994 film titled Whale Music. The script was written by Michael Konyves (of SciFi movies Solar Attack, Earthstorm, Storm Cell, Fire & Ice) and is based on Mordecai Richler’s novel of the same name. The film is premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and still needs a US distributor. Stick around for a review and updates if you’re interested in this flick. Thoughts?
